Studio Review: IMPACT

On Thursday I was luck enough to be invited to attend a class at Impact Functional and Sports Training center!

It’s funny how things line up in life. I was actually at FitHouse when I met an amazing young woman who wanted me to come try out her gym in Sudbury, MA. She connected me to the owner of Impact, Anthony, and we immediately set up a time for me to come take a class.

Now, if you’re not from this area you don’t understand the geography of Sudbury and where I live. It’s pretty far. On a good day with no traffic it’s about 30 min. With traffic. Ugh. I don’t even want to think about it. Since the class was at 6:30pm and I knew it would be peak traffic time, I decided to head out there a little early and hit up the Natick Mall.

Shopping before sweating? I think so.

As I drove to the studio I was examining the other options locals have for fitness. Get in Shape for Women, Planet Fitness, multiple privately owned yoga studios… all great options, but don’t have the whole package.

I pulled into Impact (that’s right, pulled in… they have a huge parking lot!) and immediately got the sense that this space was different. Tucked away next to a CVS and a grocery store, this facility has it all. From TRX training to Spin classes and yoga, Anthony has created an environment that truly caters to ALL levels of fitness. With over 50 classes a week, you are bound to find a style or format that suits you!

I decided on a Metabolic Conditioning class that was suggested to me. It combined the TRX, medicine ball, kettlebell, battling ropes and the airdyne bike. Hard? Sure was. I was sweating before the warm up even finished. It was one of those classes that really pushed you to a point that you didn’t think was possible. Not a ‘I’m going to faint or puke’ moment. Just a complete total body, heart beating, anaerobic workout.

The facility has so much to offer for it’s members beyond classes too. Personal training as well as equipment that can be used at your own will! There really are no excuses to not belong here if you’re within 25 miles of it. Oh and did I mention they have babysitting? Again, no excuses.

Anthony and I post class. Sweaty and lovin’ it.

So remember that time you said you couldn’t go to the gym because of the kids? Because it didn’t offer the class you wanted? At the time you wanted? Because there was no parking?

No longer. Give a class at Impact a try. I guarantee there’s one that will work for you.
