Dining Out, Newton-Style

With owner, Bill, (from left to right), Becki, Jenna, Steph, Cara, Monique, Athena and Lauren

One thing you may not know about me, I don’t dine out very often.

My idea of a fancy-esque evening includes ordering sushi, picking it up and watching a mind-numbing reality show on TV. Or, much more likely, stopping at Whole Paycheck on my way home from work to grab something from the Hot Bar.

Buh-bye money I just made …

So when I got asked to a fun blogging dinner in Newton, Mass., I definitely didn’t turn it down! Not to mention the evening was to be spent with some incredible Boston bloggers — double win!!

Social Restaurant and Bar, located on Washington Street, has hands-down some of the best food I’ve eaten in a while. Aside from the incredible eats, the service was outstanding.

Yellow fin tuna, sticky rice, spicy green beans, pickled daikon, avocado, sweet soy ginger sauce

My girl Monique, who blogs at Burpees to Bubbly, organized this amazing event with 8 area health and fitness bloggers. Some ladies I am friends with from Boston fitness events (Hi Athena, Steph and Becki!!), others it was my first time meeting — Cara, Jenna and Lauren!!

When we weren’t laughing and sharing stories, Social kept brining us platter after platter of delicious salads, entrees and desserts to try! Here are a few I would highly recommend:

Rosemary-lemon roast chicken

Maple roasted squash farro

Heirloom beet salad

Chocolate lava cake

Did I mention they validate free parking at the hotel next door AND street parking is free after 6 p.m.?

Go, seriously.

With amazing food and an awesome atmosphere, you really can’t go wrong.

See you in Newton 🙂
